activation file invalid

I just upgraded to 6.0.1 build 995 from 5.2.3. when i try to activate our license for WinGate, it tells me that the "activation file is invalid". our wingate VPN key activated just fine...

how do we fix this?

Hi

Can you activate a trial to get your system working, and email me a copy of the file it activated (that it said was invalid) to adrien at qbik dot com please? Then I will be able to see what has happened.

i did activate it under a trial license for the time being. i'll look for an activation file to ed you. any suggetions on what file name i'm looking for?

It should be "licensekey".lic and should be located in your WinGate Folder. "licensekey" will be your actual license key (E.g. 40AB80CD12EF24GH or something similar ... )

Hi

We did have a problem with our activation script last night that was there for a couple of hours. Basically a fix to one thing broke another.

It should be back up and running now though (as of about 10 hours ago).

Also, it is possible we fixed the issue already. Have you re-tried to activate recently? I note your last post was a couple of weeks ago now, and we have fixed a couple of problems with activation since then.

The license you sent through is undersized (A lot smaller than the file should be). Can you please try to re-activate (Or activate) your license, and send the resulting output to us, please? (Either to adrien at qbik dot com, or to pascalv at qbik dot com)

We have recently fixed a problem where this could occur. If that activation still fails, you can use email activation to get it going. You would need to generate the activation request and submit it to our Sales and Support team, who can then supply you with a full-sized activation file.

Alright - the easiest thing to do then is to get in touch with our support team. That will allow you to post your e-mail activation information (You will need to change the preferences so it doesn't go into options) onto a web-form that is not visible to the general public. You can do this by going to support.qbik.com and posting a new ticket from http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=tickets&_m=submit.

You'll be in touch with Matt then, who'll help you out with this. Do you have an alternative email address, apart from the one in your profile? I've had a lot of problems sending to accounts in that domain recently (SPF?) If you have an alternative email address, put it into the support ticket as well, please.

So you had no luck retrying?

We can extend your trial, I just need to look up your trial activation record. If you can send me your trial activation file, this could be the easiest way to do this.

It's most odd, when we activate your key here, it activates fine, so it is nothing to do with your key.

Also, could you please go into the activation client, and choose to activate that key, but select in the configuration an email activation, then send through the data it gives. Then we can test the activation with your exact settings.

hey, adrien. i didn't receive your email before. i'll write you from a different account now and see whether that works better. i'm waiting for a response to my activation email, and then i'll send along the trial license and the return output from the activation attempt.

I got your email, and found there was a problem with our activation server, so I have emailed you an activation key. Let me know if you don't receive this, it should be in your mailbox already.
