Installation on XP

Hi

My OS is XP will SP2. I connect to the internet via a BB cable. When installing WG 6 on this machine the pre-install warning says that ICS needs to be disabled first if I wish to use ENS. However, after disabling ICS, the BB cable login app fails connect to the internet. So I've installed WG without ENS, as this is an install option.

Will I loose VPN functionality without ENS? Is some other way to install WG with ENS and still get my BB login app to do its job?

VPN needs ENS, yes. However, why does the BB login app need ICS to function? Does it run on the server or a client PC?

I'm setting up WG server and the BB login app also runs on this machine.
I have no idea why it needs ICS. My telco is Telstra Bigpond Broadband if that is any help. Do we need to use their login app, or will WG handle the login. If that is possible then I won't need to run the login app and can therefore disable ICS.

It depends on what their login app does. If you have a 'dialup' connection in the system, WinGate will be able to login for that. However, if it is some proprietary system - odds are slim. I think we have other Teltra Bigpond customers on the forum, maybe we can get one of them to help out.
