File Download Problems

Postby Janusz430 » Sep 22 04 3:17 am

I have a problem downloading files, they are more often than not corrupt. I have to go into the Wingate server and download them directly from that machine. I noticed that problem at 2 different locations, both running Wingate 5.2.3
Files include executibles and zip type, downloaded using HTTP or FTP connection.

Hi there

By corrupt, do you mean you only received some of the file. Or is the file incomplete (size or unable to be opened)
Do you have Kaspersky Antivirus for Wingate installed.

If so is the traffic set to be scanned by the plugin?

Due to the way KAV for WinGate scans data client machines may receive an incomplete file before being notified that the file is blocked.

There was an issue with downloads and plugins that was fixed in 5.2.3 release(as per release notes). So if that is the version of WinGate that is running their functionality should be fine.

If you dont have the plugin installed is the corruption happening at any particular download site or from all download sites?.

Regards
Erwin

I don't have KAV, we installed SAV Corporate Edition 9.0 in whole network. Files are incomplete (smaller size) and from different locations (for examle printer drivers from HP or Lexmark web sites)
