I have a customer running WinGate v5.0.10 who is using the SMTP Server to send outbound mail directly. When the WinGate SMTP server connects to a remote system, it is announcing itself as follows:
EHLO fred
Fred is the NetBIOS name of the computer running WinGate.
Some MTA's are refusing to accept the mail because the EHLO announcement is not a fully qualified domain name.
How can I change the value that will be passed in the EHLO command without changing the name of the computer?
Thanks,
Linda

Under EMAIL - SECURITY - there is a place to enter the Server Domain Name.

If the version of Wingate has an 'Email' service then there is a default domain option on the security tab.
