Activation wingate 6.0.3

Postby nestor75 » Nov 02 04 9:52 pm

We are using a freeware proxy on a windows 2003 server. Now I have to change it with the wingate 6.0.3 but I want to install it on another 2003 server, activate it and configure all the services. Change the actual proxy server with the wingate and prove that all works fine.
If all its ok, then install and configure the wingate 6.0.3 at the first 2003 server because this computer is better than the other.

My question is:

I will have any problem because I activate wingate 6.0.3 first at one server and after in another server?

The two servers never works together. I try one, if all its Ok,I will shoot down it, I will configure the other, I will connect the other and I will activate it.

First thought here is - you can set everything up with a Trial License. That way, the activation can be trashed, and you know before purchasing that everything will work the way you expect it to.

However, if you want to use a purchased license - activate it on the first server. Once you're happy that it works and you've migrated your basic setup, deactivate the license on computer 1 and then re-activate it on computer 2.

So long as you keep the number of activations/deactivations concurrent, you should be fine.

There is one caveat in my first suggestion though. The Trial license is an Unlimited User Enterprise license. So, double check the features you plan to use and make sure that what you setup will be available on the license you plan on purchasing.
