Proble with Windows XP

Postby theflash31_1 » Jun 01 05 4:57 am

Hi,

I didn't find anything to help me at this time in the forum.

The problem I have is on Windows XP with or without SP1 (english) the Wingate doesn't start and we have to manually setting up the proxy address in the Internet Explorer. But that way we can't use feature of Wingate. Is there a way to make it works well with Win XP ?

(We tried different version of client, sometimes it start but on many PC absolutly doesn't start, I tried to reset the WGIC, disable then re-enable, restart the PCs,...)

Thx for your help !!!

It works very well with XP. The one caveat is that on some installations of XP the GDP settings are not saved automatically. So, double check that you have actually clicked "OK" from the applet to ensure that the settings are saved.

Then, also check that the XP Firewall is off on the client machine. That (or some other firewalling software) could potentially be blocking the discovery / wrp network traffic.
