Hi Ruud,
If you have already activated your license in a version 6 installation it will need to be deactivated before you can activate it on a new machine.
We have a knowledge base article explaining how to transfer your license, you'll find that here,
http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=kn ... ils&_i=106
You can also export your settings so that you don't have to recreate all of your policies and groups. There is also a knowledge base article on this, you'll find that here,
http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=kn ... ils&_i=108
Please note that if you're transferring a registry file between 98 and XP you may need to copy the contents of the old registry file into a registry file created in an XP installation. You can do this by exporting the WinGate registry file from the XP machine then simply copying the contents of the WinGate registry from the 98 machine over the top of the XP file.
When you are running WinGate on an XP machine we recommend disabling the XP personal firewall. The only sure-fire way of doing this is by disabling the service from starting. Go to the services applet, find Windows Internet Connection Sharing/Personal Firewall, disable the service from starting and stop the service.
Regards,
Matt
