Hi

Couple of things.

1. I would really recommend upgrading to WinGate 6.0.4, we fixed a lot of bugs between 5.2.2 and 6.0.4.

2. WinGate doesn't cooperate very well with zonealarm. Even when you disable zonealarm it often leaves its driver installed and running.

Regards

I have now installed the trial version 6.0.4 of wingate but i have same problem windows xp keeps restarting again and again. i will uninstall zonealarm to see what happens. Does the new 6.0.4 has any problem with realtek nic cards?

Even uninstalling Zone Alarm leaves software drivers behind that causes big problems.

If you are still having problems...

When Windows XP gets an error and automatically restarts, it usually created a mini memory dump file. This file can be interpreted by our programmers to help isolate this issue.

To find the file, do a search for *.dmp and locate the one with the relevant date/time for the restarts. Attach it to a support ticket with an update on your problem, and a reference to this forum post. A new support ticket can be created here: http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=tickets&_m=submit

There is a fix for the ***Realtek 8029 network card. If you have that card, try the following solution. Navigate to (Windows) Start menu --> Programs --> WinGate --> Advanced Options --> Hardware Specific ... and tick the 8029 check box. You may be required to do this in safe mode.

***An easy way to find out if you are running the Realtek 8029 network interface card, is to use the ipconfig tool:
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd --> ipconfig/all
Your type of network card will be displayed in the "Description" field.
