wingate internet client issues

Postby gsharad007 » Oct 24 05 11:51 pm

i am having the following trouble with WGIC

1.) my system run apache and mysql which dont run if WGIC is working. i need to disable it and start these and reenable WGIC. it now works.

2.) another problem is sometimes SQL clients (WGIC & SQL Client) cant connect to the SQL Server(WinGate Server and SQL Server and Win 2003).
works same as above

3.) often a dialog pops up asking for username and password for authentication. y is this opening up. all my clients are domain members. and wingate uses my domain server.

4.) very often some thing breaks in WGIC and i have to do Reset Client / Restart Cycle multiple times.

5.) sometimes WGIC works when one user is logged in and not for another user on the same machine.

please cud u provide me a solution to this fast

using wingate 6.4 1025

Hi

Sounds like you need to edit the application list on the client. If you open the WinGate Internet Client control panel applet from control panel, you will see a tab called "applications". This is where you can define special case handling for various applications. To stop the WinGate Client from redirecting an application, set it to "local" mode.

wat i really need is to allow unristricted access to my LAN meaning

one SQL Server (on the server)
one IIS Server (on the server)

also i am able to locate another problem to WGIC

systems at startup freeze at Applying Computer Settings. if i unplug the network cable it work. if i uninstall the WGIC it works. meaning the computer is unable to access the server due to WGIC.

wat do i do to enable un ristrictive access to local lan

WGIC shudnt block that

Does this happen when the users activity becomes "Assumed"?

5.) sometimes WGIC works when one user is logged in and not for another user on the same machine.

Two people logged in at the same time, Terminal server?

a) Regarding IIS, Are your clients not able to access the Webpages?
b) Does it serve requests to external users as well?
c) Are you using any proxies / intercepts

a) if i enable ban list they are unable to access the webpages even if i allow ip begining with my lan ips. if i disable they are able to access webpages

b) do u mean thru VPN then no otherwise please tell me wat u mean

c) i want to allow acces only to ppl who are allowed and wat ever sites they are allowed. i am using WGIC only but can switch to NAT if authentication is happening(not happening in NAT) no proxies. i want to allow the most seemless access.

my two biggest issues are

1.) systems at startup freeze at Applying Computer Settings. if i unplug the network cable it work. if i uninstall the WGIC it works. meaning the computer is unable to access the server due to WGIC.

2.) my system run apache and mysql which dont run if WGIC is working. i need to disable it and start these and reenable WGIC. it now works.

another new problem if i am unable to recieve incoming connections even after opening ports on the firewall.

i need to accept incoming connection on Client in DHCP enviornment.
