XP Client losing TCP IP

Postby PaulAHE » Nov 17 05 12:19 am

Hi,
We have Wingate 4.3 / NT4 with clients running Win9x/NT4. everything works smoothly.
I recently added an XP Pro client. This client erratically loses Internet, Mail and Network printing until the WIC is reset and the PC rebooted.
Ping also fails until the reboot so it looks like TCPIP is going down.
It appears to be random - twice a day to twice a month.
Any suggestions? TIA

1) Are there any indications in the Windows event viewer; i.e. IP Address Conflict? (Windows) Start menu --> run --> eventvwr

2) Are you using DHCP on the XP Pro box? Does it still happen if you statically set the address.

3) Have you tried manually setting the WinGate servers IP address in the WGIC?

4)

What about if the PC is just rebooted, without resetting the WGIC?
