I am sorry to ask a previous discussed question again but the hints you gave that guy do not work for me (
http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=656 )
We have installed Wingate 6.1.0 (Build 1068; incl. Kaspersky plugin) on Win2000 Server SP4 (but with some recent updates missing).
Trying to download some PDFs result in scrambled files: The Acrobat Reader 7.03 does not want to open them since the file format is unknown (opened with notepad it seems there is some kind of binary header or encryption in front of the PostScript-data)
Neither opening the file from inside the browser nor downloading it to disk does work. Only switching the IE6 to a different proxy solves the problem but that proxy is not available to my co-workers so it is no real solution.
Examples of such PDFs can be found at
http://www.dpma.de/formulare/patent.html
Most interesting: It does not happen to all PDFs. Some (small?) can be opened without any problem. And may be reloading the same file several times is successful (or may be I just opened another file with the second click - I am not sure)
Thanks in advance for any suggestion on how to open PFDs.
Thomas
