Windows DNS Client Service

Does it hurt Wingate to have the "DNS Client" service stoped? I am looking into using a large custom hosts file and was told that disableing this service would help performance since it caches the hosts file.

Hi

WinGate itself doesn't use the OS-based DNS client service, it has it's own one built in (which you can't stop) - called the DNS resolver.
