Downloading of Files not working correctly via Wingate.

Postby salimwng » Mar 24 06 3:16 am

Hello,

We have recently upgraded to Wingate 6.1.0 (Build 1068) around Nov / Dec 06. However, since then, we have noticed a strange behaviour in the downloading of files. The problem can be described as follows;

Whenever a user right click on a file (ANY TYPE OF FILE) to be downloaded on his PC, the status bar (Blue of the File Download window does not appear. It is only when the file has been downloaded completely that the user gets the prompt for saving the file. Am attaching 2 screenshots to show you. The disadvantage of this is that if we are downloading a big file, we will not know if the computer has been locked or the download is running in the background.

Initially we thought that the problem was on that PC having this problem. But finally found out that all the workstations connected to the net, through wingate is having this problem. Even the SERVER itselft behaves in this way.

Can you please help

In all likelyhood you are running a plugin in a mode that does not allow drip-feeding. (OR you have dripfeeding turned off on the Plugins page of the web proxy).

So, check that drip feeding is turned on. If it is, make sure that Kaspersky Antivirus is not set to clean. For it to clean it needs to download the entire file to itself first, before sending it on to the client which will result in this type of behavior.
