multiple smtp

Hi guys,

i am new to wingate.

I am using wingate 5.2.3 runing on a windows 2000 machine.

We have people from two different companies loacted in the same office and using the same wingate. each company has its own webmail/pop mail. i would like to know how can i configure the wingate smtp & pop services so that people from both the companies can use outlook to send and recivce mails.
assuming one company has mail from abc.com and second company has xyz.com.
till now i have been only able to configure mail for 1 company at a time.
in the configration that i am doing. the users outlook has the pop & smtp server configured as the IP of the wingate machine.
plz let me know what i am doing wrong.

Thanks

Ruchir

Hi, basically this is how it could work, but it isn't something I have done for a while now and never use myself, but here goes.

You must have NAT installed and active to do this.

In GateKeeper, disable the POP3 and SMTP servers [or changing them to another vacant port could possibly work].

In each client, configure for a direct connection to the POP3 Server / SMTP Server of the host / ISP / company.

Antiviral filtering won't apply in this connection model.

Oh and upgrade to V6.1.1 is a must, your current licence will provide the same functions as 5.x with all the benefits of 6.x.
