Wingate5: MS VPN pass trough

Postby Nemesis123 » Sep 18 06 8:53 pm

Hi to all,

I have a Server with Wingate 5 on it. Now I have Workstations in my LAN with WinXP SP2 on them, One or two Workstations have to buld up a VPN connection to a Server outside our office.

The question is, how do I get Wingate to let the Microsoft VPN Connection trough so this Workstation can connect to this Server.

Thanks for you help.

If I remember correct Wingate 5 did not support Microsoft VPN passthrough - you have to upgrade to v6 where it is supported by the driver.

Is the VPN using PPTP or IPSEC. I seem to remember that PPTP would work while IPSEC would not. Been a long time though.

IPSec can be used as well in NAT-T (NAT traversal mode) if supported.
