web proxy users cannot upload file via http

Postby saldin2010 » Sep 20 06 9:49 am

Hi All,

We're having a bit of a problem. We're using Wingate 6.1.1 Enterise and our users are complaining that they can't upload files. Case in question, uploading attachments to Yahoo Mail or Hotmail.

What is happening here? What can we do to keep our customers happy?

Thanks in advance,

Salomon

Hi

Are you running Kaspersky AV plugin, or PureSight for WinGate?

What symptoms do the users see? A timeout, or an error?

We don't have any plugins installed.

Users see a 404 error page.

Thank you very much Adrien!

Hi,

Is this a PPP connection?

Have you tried lowering the MTU [if it's on the default 1500]?

404 error means that the server replied that the page requested was not found.

WinGate passes 404 errors from servers straight back through to the client.

You sure the URL is correct?

Considering you are using 6.1.1, why not upgrade to 6.1.4 and then see if the problem persists? Or put 6.1.4 on a test installation, and see if the problem persists.
