Wingate Problem Please Help

Postby StealthCubz » Mar 07 07 11:32 pm

Hi , i am new to this forum, and i am having a lil problem

On my mail server i have wingate installed, using NT Users located on a Windows 2000 server, my clients are only allowed to connect during certain times 6am-8am; 1pm-2pm; 5pm-6pm, all was working fine, now all of a sudden there is a password box popping up when a user try access the internet, the password box is a windows password box trying to connect to the mail server, if i use any client username and password it keeps coming back , if i use the administrator username and the password it connects and i can connect to the internet. Does any1 have a idea what the problem could be, and try and assist me in fixing this problem ?

I presume you are within an AD environment.

Since only the Administrator password works, then it indicates a problem with WinGate passing on credentials to the AD User Database. So check that the "Qbik WinGate Engine" is logging in with a *domain* administrator account in the Windows Services. Also check if there are any issues with the AD server going down or having DNS problems.
