WG 5.0.2 doesn't disable internet access with Rates settings

Dec 13 03 10:01 am

Wingate is working fine.

I have been set up traffic rates for user X. This user have ip address 192.168.0.176 and he is assumed wingate service by ip.

Opening Balance has been set to 0.5
Traffic rates set to 0.1 in two fields that holds information about real transfered ammount of bytes from/to internet.

Then i'am go online with this ip and surf internet for a while. Total traffic i've made was more than limit, but internet access is still working!

I was look into account setting of this user:

Opening Balance is NEGATIVE
Total Charges contains cost of ALL traffic i used.

Why this is so unfair?

How have you got your policies set up to limit User access once a limit or certain balance has been reached? You have to be sure that the System policy isn't granting access to the User when you may be trying to restrict User's access on a service.

Chris is right

It is not enough to simply set rates for charges. You have to also tell WinGate not to allow users with a negative account balance.

To do this, you can go to the system policies, edit the recipient for access, and add a rule in the advanced tab with a criteria for user account balance must be greater than zero.
