What FTP client are you using? For most Web browsers to use FTP you need to set FTP proxy through WWW proxy in Wingate. Pure FTP clients require FTP proxy configuration.

Nope - IE requires the same WWW proxy for FTP access.

What happens if you set the same proxy for all protocols, does it work then?

ftp proxy

Postby D4U » Jun 15 07 11:55 pm

Hi,
When i set the same proxy for all protocols also it does not allow, it's only allowed when i enable the NAT but i do not wish to give ftp via NAT, i only want it by WWW proxy or you can suggest by FTp proxy service.

Then it should be OK - when you have FTP proxy set up in the IE on the client side and try to access an FTP server - do you see WWW session reported in Gatekeeper?

ftp proxy

Postby D4U » Jun 20 07 1:09 am

Hi,
No i don't seen any ftp session, i can access ftp servers on internet noly when i enable NAT which means the ftp traffice passes via NAT and not WWW proxy, what policy needs to be given set for ftp access through WWW proxy service as i do not wish ftp traffice passing via NAT.

It does not make sense then - if you have an FTP proxy configured (unless there is an override of some kind) you should see both WWW and FTP sessions in gatekeeper - can you see NAT sessions to port 21 then?
