Port Redirection

Postby bronxwarrior » Nov 27 07 9:33 am

I am testing WinGate because of the demise of WinProxy. Everything has been easy to configure, but I have come across one problem that I am unable to resolve. I have a number of applications running on local machines that need to be accessed from port redirection. Let me use RealVNC as an example. My Wingate machine uses a local IP, 10.173.179.93 and my local machine is 10.173.179.148. RealVNC uses TCP port 5900, so if I want to access RealVNC on the local machine, I would need to go through the proxy on a different port which is redirected to port 5900 on the local machine. Let's say my external IP is 200.200.200.200, so by going to 200.200.200.200:5901, I would like to redirect to 10.173.179.148:5900 on the local machine. Can you tell me how to set this up? I have been going through numerous posts on the forums, but have not seen anything address how to set this up on a local PC. Thanks.

Current version of wingate allows you to redirect traffic based on destination port only (see ENS/Port actions dialog). The new version will allow source routing decisions, where all the information from a connection can be taken into account.

Is there an anticipated release date for the new version?
