To make life a bit easier, there is actually a button in WinGate that will export the registry file for you. You don't need to stop the WinGate engine when using this.
Gatekeeper > Options (drop-down menu) > Advanced > Save Registry Settings
To import registry settings back into a WinGate installation:
1. Stop the WinGate engine
2. Open regedit (Start > Run > regedit)
3. Navigate to `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\`
4. Delete or rename the `WinGate` registry key
5. Run the WinGate registry file that you want to import
6. Start the WinGate engine
