To use a webcam in yahoo messenger, your client computer needs to have a NAT connection through WinGate. NAT consists of your clients default gateway pointing to the WinGate computer, and the primary DNS pointing to a DNS server that can resolve internet domain names (often this can also be set to the WinGate computer, but there may be exceptions).

Quote from Yahoo's online knowledgebase

In order to use all the Yahoo! Messenger Webcam features, your firewall must permit incoming and outgoing TCP connections on port 5100. You must ask your system administrator to make this change.

If you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, you may not be able to use the Webcam feature.

You could try using the Socks Proxy instead of the WWW Proxy, but from my experience, advanced features like voice and video need NAT.[/b]
