FTP related

Postby ntm » Dec 12 07 2:34 pm

Hi

Need guideline on ftp. Previously without do anything in wingate, our user able to access ftp site that hosted by 3rd party company, ftp://abc.edf.com but now, suddenly cant access it anymore. I have checked our ftp proxy server, there's no changes. Our ftp proxy setting as below,

[1]. General - service auto start, untick disable ftp restarts, pad out blocked files
[2]. Sessions - tick ssesions time out 180 seconds of inactivity, under transparent proxy tick intercept connections, port21 started
[3]. Plugin - no
[4]. Server Request - Previously tick [Reject Request] but now untick it and tick [Pipe request through to predetermined server=> ftp://abc.edf.com, port 21]
Previous this ftp site no need to mention and user able to access it but now need to specify..
[5]. Connection - tick directly

My question is when there's another ftp that user need to access, how am I going to add into server request since only allow me to put one ftp ?

Need advice here.

Thanks.

Hi,

Have you tried Passive mode in the FTP client?

You could reverse your network changes and clients should have the same FTP access without the need to pipe the request.

One other last though, if you run the command tool 'nslookup' and type in the address of the ftp server does it resolve to an IP address?

looks like the client must be configured to connect to port 21 on the WinGate machine. Maybe the client has an FTP proxy setting somewhere?

Did any settings change on the client machine?
