ENS Service Refuses to start

Postby ccbce » Aug 06 08 9:07 pm

I seem to be having trouble getting ENS running on a new install. I've used winagte for a few years now and I was doing a new install due to some problems with the previous computer it was running on. However, on the new system the ENS service will not start. I chose to install it and it is selected to start within Extended networking service inside wingate. I am running this on a pentium d 930 with a gig of ram and running windows xp 64-bit SP2. I also disabled ics before install of wingate. ANy thoughts? The only thing i can figure is maybe it is some sort of conflict due to using 64-bit?

Thanks

64 bit most likely the problem. The ENS driver doesn't do well in that mode.

We actually have an ENS driver that supports XP/2003 x64 editions, but it relies on the new WinGate 7 framework to work and can't be migrated back to WinGate 6.x.

Therefore, Windows XP/2003 x64 support will be included with the next major release of WinGate.
