Wingate Client gives Socket error after 10 minutes of machin

Wingate Client gets a socket error after 10 minutes of Wingate server restart.
internet can be accessed on the Wingate server machine but all clients get Socket error message
msn messenger works but mails through proxy serv er doesnt work, internet browsing doesnt work.
this problem is coming from last few days.

Socket Error 10049 {Thd 1764} [socket #FCC, 0.0.0.0:4865 to :0]

while downloading the microsoft ms update/ any of the links it gives socket error.
please advise. solution for the same.,

Hi

Is the WinGate server running on XP SP2 or later? If so, check the system event log in windows on that machine and look for warning 4226. If you see lots of these, that's the problem.

With SP2, Microsoft took away the ability to have more than 10 pending connections at any one time. There are patches available to patch tcpip.sys which removes this arbitrary limit.
