NAT through Dial-up on WG5

Hello! My fellow guy have met a problem with NAT when began to use dial-up (PPPoE) connection (he used a DSL router before) - it just don't work (no ping, no tracert, can't establish any connection). The config is: Windows 2000 Server, WinGate 5, PPPoE client for Windows 2000. He had no problems when he used ADSL router.

I have WinGate 6 on Windows 2003 Server and don't have such kind of problems. Please help.

WinGate 5.x is very old, and there have been many bug fixes since then. I recommend that he upgrades to WinGate 6.x to make sure that he is not dealing with a bug that has already been fixed.

Does your friend know that his WinGate 5.x license will activate a WinGate 6.x installation. He will simply be limited to using the features in WinGate 6.x that were available in 5.x as well. He only has to pay for the upgrade if he wants to use the new features in WinGate 6.x.
