We have a LAN with WIngate on the server running Windows 2000 Advanced Server. The LAN side has a printer owned by the same server. The LAN is using IP address range 10.0.0.1 etc.
The internet side of Wingate is plugged into a router that also has several other non-LAN computers plugged into it. The router is using address range 192.168.0.1 etc.
The router provides the internet connection for both the LAN Server and the non-LAN computers.
What we need to do is provide printing for the non-LAN computers to the printer that is owned by the LAN server.
The routing would be non-LAN computer --> router --> Wingate --> LAN server --> LAN printer.
Does anyone have a neat suggestion on how to do this printing.
Thanks - Al

Al, probably not the answer you want, but I'd put it on the Class A subnet 10.x as a print server based peer to peer host.
Could that work?

Unfortunately these computer are not wanted on the 10.1.xx.xx subnet due to their high risk nature.
And we could always create a print file and FTP or transfer the file to the network and then print the file etc, but that is a very poor solution. I've got to believe that there is a much better seamless way of setting up the printing.

I was referring to the printer, as a peer to peer host on the 10.x subnet.

You got me thinking... and now its working. Thanks.
In Wingate:
Extended Networking/Port Security/Connections from the Internet/Add
Internet computers to the WinGate PC
TCP
Ports 9100 9100
Redirect Packet to IP Address 10.0.xx.xx (ip address of printer on LAN
On the external PC:
Add Printer/Local Printer/LPT3:
install a printer - I used HP Laserjet 4
do NOT print a test page
After printer is created:
Right click on the Printer an select Properties/Ports/Add Port.../Standard TCP/IP Port/New Port...
for the Printer Name or IP Address use the IP address of the Wingate External adapter on the server e.g 192.168.0.147
Select the port just created and close.
And it all worked.
