Secure websites and gateway rotation

Postby jvrsvw » Aug 06 09 1:33 am

Hi guys

I just got my gateway rotation working in WWW proxy, and they rotate each new connection. What I am experiencing is the following - when I visit my Internet banking website I can log in and then as soon as I click on a new link it logs my out, I presume it is due to the new connection is made over another interface and not the original one and the secure site sees it and then log me off as a security precaution.

How can I correct this ?

Kind regards,

Hi

That's the problem with the current implementation, in that it blindly chooses another interface, which will have another source IP. If the server you are going to is using the client IP in its session key, then it sees the connection out the next gateway as being from a different client.

So what is required is a way to associate an internal LAN client with a gateway to use. WinGate 6 unfortunately can't do this. WinGate 7 probably can if you would like to try it. When I say probably, it's because the policy system in 7 allows you to set gateway based on any available parameter. Ideally we'd write a specific load-balancing plugin for 7 that would make it simpler to use.

Regards
