Wingate NAT Security

Postby rebelldtu » Aug 11 09 9:35 pm

Hi
I am using the extended networking driver as well as WWW PROXY SERVER. I have tied down the WWW PROXY SERVER using NTLM authentication for users in our domain.I wish to tie down the system policy so that only one particular IP address is able to get a response from the extended networking driver (NAT). I see I can do this on a user basis but dont know how to do it on an IP level or machine basis. Basically I have a filtering server in place, all users are pointed to this and then the filtering server is pointed at the Wingate NAT and is being authenticated as a guest. Can I blackhole all IP addresses other than the one in question?. I need to stop all other random users accessing the NAT service as a guest if they put the gateway address into machines which are not controlled as part of my domain by group policy.

Any help would be gratefully received

Hi All'
Just incase this helps anybody.. I sorted the problem by going into the extended network driver policies and setting "default rights are ignored" left "users can access this service" and added the "everyone" group then set "location" "specify locations from where this recipient has rights" and added the IP of my server and the local loop back address. Sounds simple now but hey ho!! Wood and trees spring to mind!!
Cheers
