Wingate7 problems after upgrade

Postby jrosen » Nov 26 11 5:47 am

Today wingate announced that is was a update, ok i installed through wingates update function.

With my first install i choosed not to install the network driver, the upgrade today had ticked the box so when i clicked next next next i did not notice this.
Ok my bad, but i think the upgrade installer should know what is installed from the beginning, and not install it. Bug or feature?

And after this i can not logon to the management tool (firewall that activated?), i also tried from a client. But no luck, something went totally wrong with the upgrade. And of course i have rebooted and restarted the service.

This is my new wingate machine that i am building, i have my old up and running so its not critical. Do you want to take a look at the server to find out what went wrong with the upgrade? Or should i reinstall the software and then we hope that its goes better the next time? I can provide you access (email) via teamviewer if you want.

Possibly the driver didn't get linked to your NIC?

Go to properties of the NIC and Install - Service - Add - Select the Qbik driver and OK out.

That's just a guess on what the problem and solution could be.

What is your server configuration?

Sorry that wasn't the fix.

Just wondering what OS and computer platform you have.

OK - thanks for that. The good folks at Qbik should be online before long and see your request. You could also submit a request to support@wingate.com or http://support.qbik.com to get it into their system.

Your server should be plenty good enough.

Hi Johan

I saw that you'd selected the AD user database provider, so I was able to log in with the windows account you gave me.

as a short-cut, you can log in as the current windows user if you leave all the login dialog fields blank - e.g. no username or password.

You'll need to log in as a member of the group "Domain Admins"

I didn't do anything - just logged in. I deleted the "Administrator" from the login dialog is all.

This was strange, i have tried to logon many many times, and several reboots. No luck..
Now its working, lets hope it stays that way.
