Hello,
Before asking any question, please apologyze my english ! :-)
So, i'm just beginning using Wingate and PureSight for a friend's school, I'm impressed by this software... But I have an issue:
The proxy is on a Windows7 computer. The global idea of my friend is to have a wifi hotspot accessible for the students, but physically separated from the internal network of the school. There are also 2 windows7 computers for the printing.
That's what it looks like :
Router 1 (192.168.1.x)--------- (192.168.1.97) PROXY (192.192.0.1)-----------Router 2 (192.168.0.x)
[school's network - Internet access] [proxy network]
So, I installed the printer on the proxy (the computer is useable by the students, on a limited session) and shared it.
Then I installed it on the other printing computer, as an administrator, and it worked. But when I open a limited session on this last computer, the printer doesn't appear, and I cannot connect to the proxy to reinstall it.
Any of you have any idea to help me?

Hi
which computer are you trying to install the printer on?
If it's not the proxy, and this process worked with an admin account but not a non-admin account, this implies it's not the proxy, since the firewalling etc in WinGate won't distinguish user, and so must be ok for it to work for any account.
So I think it's probably a sharing permissions issue in the sharing computer, or some other permissions issue in the client.

Hi
Thank you for your answer.
I try to install it on another computer, on the hotspot, connected to the proxy. The proxy computer shares the printer.
I agree with you : I don't think it comes from WinGate.
The problem is even more complicated : the two computers (the proxy and the other one) have the same login/pwd for the local admin account. If i'm logged with this account on the computer, I can see and use the printer shared by the proxy. If I create another admin account, I cannot.
I must admit i've never seen such an issue, and hoped someone has ever experienced (and solved) it...
For now, I've just connected the second computer on the private network of the school on a second network card, with a high metric so that it does use the proxy for the internet. Not clean but works for now, and I would prefer something clean instead!
Thanks a lot,
Adrien (too)
