Wingate with Transparent Proxy

Postby JimT » May 28 14 4:06 am

Hi
I want to double check a config before purchasing.....

I am setting up a guest Wi-Fi system for Internet Access for people who are on site for a cople of hours at most, this access needs to be completely separate from my internal LAN but I still need to protect users from attacks and control sites (at least with broad classifications...porn, gambling etc).

I do not expect more than 30 users at a time.

I have the Wi-Fi system almost ready to go so its simply the security that outstanding.

So the solution would appear to be to put Wingate (in transparent mode) with Kapersky and Puresite installed, in between the Wi-Fi router and the Internet.

Obviously I will not have access to internal AD to authenticate users and it will not be possible to setup users in Wingate or install the wingate client software, so can Wingate support a default user for all connections?

Any suggestion on this setup?

cheers
jim

Hi Jim

WinGate is happy to work with everyone unknown. You can still set policy based on client IP/range.
