Authentication popup message

Mar 16 15 4:00 pm

Authentication popup message even with proper credentials .
* No auth rule
* No froce proxy
* IE setting as 'Automatic logon with u/p'

Moreover i don't need any force or re auth rule. Just AD Users shouldn't get credential pop ups (annoying). Even with n number
of cancels the page couldn't go off. ????
Matt or Adrien , please respond.

Wingate latest build on windows 2003 server with 4GB RAM.

Hi

There are a few possible reasons you get auth recurring like that.

Are the clients configured to use the proxy, or are they being intercepted? If you want to auth at the proxy, it's highly recommended that clients use the proxy explicitly.

In an AD you can set a group policy for this, there is also WPAD, and last resort forcing proxy use by intercepting the connection and rejecting requests from intercepted connections.

If the connections are intercepted, the client doesn't think it's being asked to auth to a proxy, it thinks it's being asked to auth to every single end server it tries to connect to, and it won't expect credentials can be reused. I note you say the IE is configured to use automatic login but I wonder if it actually is.

alternatively there could be something wrong with the connection from WinGate to the AD. We sometimes see this when WinGate is running on a Hyper-V VM which is live-migrated (part of a cluster). Are you able to log into WinGate with WinGate Management?
