WinGate & Tor? Is it even possible?

Postby Talicada » Jun 04 15 1:53 am

I'm currently trying to see if this is even possible, but at the moment I am kinda stuck. If anyone is able to provide any information or help, that would be much appreciated.

So my current setup is this:

Laptop -> Wireless Router -> Windows Server (With WinGate on it) -> Router -> Internet

On my laptop I have the Tor Brower Bundle which proxies using SOCKS v4 to my Windows Server (192.168.0.100:10000). The TBB proxies into a WWW proxy service which then shoots it upstream to 127.0.0.1:9050. Now at this point when I'm opening TBB it apparently successfully creates a tor circuit however it shows the error in this screenshot.

From there I am not able to access any websites, this includes public TLDs and this where I am currently stuck.
I believe this may be some issue in regards to DNS not being done at the highest upstream.

Thanks,

Hi

i don't follow why it connects using SOCKS (presumably using some SOCKS server on the client computer) to the WinGate WWW proxy, and then to localhost (127.0.0.1:9050) on the web proxy computer. What software is running on the WinGate computer on this port?
