Hi there,
I installed WinGate and removed all default bindings.
I installed Apache WebServer and it listens on port 80.
I wanted to access my local webserver from my lg f70 D315, and i used "tethering" so i got my windows 7 to "create" another LAN connection, after connecting smartphone to USB.
Ok, I'm not a networking expert I only got some basic knowledge but...I understand what a "proxy" is...I hope...
The LAN NETWORK is (looking at "ipconfig") is showing me SMARTPHONE (LAN) IP (192.168.50.100), GATEWAY (BUT NO LUCK ACCESSING INTERNET, I KNOW WHY...I THINK I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR INTERNET TETHERING WELL THIS IS ANOTHER TOPIC...)
Here is the strange thing: Apache is listening to 192.168.50.100:80. Ok. No way to access http://192.168.50.100 from that evil smartphone. Yes, everyone can connect to Apache in httpd.conf, in fact later i will explain...try to exaplain...
So, I used WinGate.
Ok, so, I configured WinGate to listen ONLY to 192.168.50.100, choosing the right "interface", something like this...the brand new one, after windows 7 detected tethering. (192.168.50.100).
But...this is not possible...how can WinGate listen to that IP same port if is still used by Apache? Voilà! I got the webserver's start page (http://192.168.50.100) from lg f70 (chrome) (yes...is a good smartphone, not evil, just joking!) .
Thanks really a lot for explaining!
Regards,
Davide
