Streaming video is not accessible from clients

Feb 07 16 12:31 am

I've had this problem for ages with Wingate,

The symptom: All video streaming sites that use RTMP or RTSP, or whatever it's called to play video streams are unable to play videos from any client computers that connect to the internet trough wingate. If I try the same site on the wingate PC thus bypassing wingate it always works.

I've had this issue since I first started using Wingate almost 10 years ago. But enough is enough. I find a solution now, or I have to stop using wingate as a router.

Hi,

How are your clients connecting to the WinGate server? If they're making a proxy connection to the WWW proxy, or making a NAT connection then video should be working.

Do you have KAV for WinGate installed?

Which version of WinGate are you using?

Thanks,

Matt

Just installed the latest version, hoping it will fix the issue, but not. 8.5.5

I don't have KAV.

Clients don't use proxy.

So if you look on the activity panel when a user is browsing do you only see NAT connections to an IP address?

Yes, that is the case.

NAT connections just pass straight through the WinGate server so should not be having problems. Can you please submit a support request to support@wingate.com and we can organise to connect to your machine and have a look at the issue?
