restricting the ports that can be opened through SOCKS proxy

Postby dataking » Mar 04 04 5:45 pm

Greetings,

is it possibly to control what ports are opened and which ones are not through the SOCKS/WWW proxy services?...i can do this through NAT just fine, but unfortunately i am unable to achieve the same result through the socks server!

any help would be greatly appriciated.

thanks and regards,

In both WWW and SOCKs you can create Criterion under the Advanced Policies tab to block ports, either at the client end or at the server end, or indeed both.

Greetings Neil,

thanks for the reply,

but i did try blocking certain server ports in that, but they are still opened through the socks proxy! its as if the proxies are simply ignoring the advanced policies!

and i basically want to block Kazaa from being run through the proxy, so i need to block a port range, this i have done in NAT with ease, but couldnt figure out how to do the same with proxies!!!

thanks and regards,
