Some sites cannot FTP, some sites can.

Hi. Maybe someone here can help with this problem.

I am using cuteftp and a proxy through wingate.

All my sites can connect fine except one. Lets call it ftp.xx.com

The thing is, I can ftp to xx.com fron the wingate server with no issues.

But behind wingate it does not work at all.

I have tried different addresses - ftp.xx.com, xx.com
Also I have tried the IP.

In cuteftp I have tried every combination of settings with no luck.
Bulletproof ftp also fails to connect in the same way.

So where to from here??

What mode do you FTP to this site on.
Active or Passive? You could try alternating with this to see if it will help.
Do you have use proxy server set in your FTP app?

How are you trying to logon anonymously or do you have a logon cred?
There are various connection methods FTP applications use such as User@host etc. These can be found in the connection options for most FTP apps.

If it works fine for all other sites and only this one gives you trouble then this is possibly a specialized connection configuration issue rather then a problem with WinGates FTP proxy.

Could you elaborate a bit further here?

All my cuteFtp connections run off global settings.
