POP3 X-Scanning

Postby Valter » Apr 03 04 5:11 am

Wingate 5.2.3
Kaspersky 1.2.2 Trial
POP3 Service on Port 110
Windows 2000 Server SP4 + All Patchs

When downloading e-mail from our ISP the Wingate Server send
"X-Scanning: xxx secs". Entering in our pop3 account through Wingate POP3 service with Telnet we continuously receive X-Scanning.
When our e-mail client start to download mails he receive random X-Scanning in the UIDL and download previosly downloaded e-mails.

We have turned off:
- Kaspersky Antivirus Plug-In
- Transparent Redirection
- Session TimeOut

But no results. The only solution is to restar the O.S..
The Wingate Server is in use for 1 week without restarting.

At this time there the possibility to disable the sending of X-Scanning?

We have tested version 5.0.5 of Wingate with Visnetic Antivirus and this version does not send X-Scanning, is this a new feature in the 5.2 version?

If this is a bug in Wingate the are some plans to work on it?

This seems to be a bug because several person have that problem.

Since I use a dialup connection this will never close if wingate send that permanent X-Scanning messages to my mail client.
