VERY URGENT PLEASE : Wingate VPN/Windows2000 VPN/Linux VPN

Postby gbarbour » May 02 04 5:47 am

Hello,

I have to connect to a VPN on a company that has Linux FreeSwan under Linux Mandrake 9. I have Wingate v 5.0.7 Proxy and a Windows 2000 environment all around my company.

I was told that, since Linux's VPN uses IPSEC I won't be able to create a VPN on my wingate machine that connectes to there VPN. So the solution was made to make a VPN connection on a Windows 2000 server machine that is behind the Wingate Proxy.

Please, could anyone tell me was is the configuration/settings to be made on both Wingate and W2000Server VPN Connection to connect to their VPN. Knowing that they use Port 1723 with a certain fix ip.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply (as detailed as possible)

Hello Again,

I was told to open incoming and outgoing GRE (protocol 47) too.

Thanks

GRE and port 1723 are used by PPTP rather than IPSec. PPTP is supported already by WinGate ENS.

I think this is for outbound connections through WinGate though, rather than inbound from the Internet - which way do you need to connect?

Actually, I want to connect to a VPN from a machine behind wingate. What is the configuration needed to open that link. How to make it in Wingate ENS ???

Thanks

Hi

If the machine you are connecting to is on the Internet, and the client making the connection is behind WinGate, there should be no configuration required to get PPTP working at all, it is supported by our ENS.

Have you tried running version 5.2.3 or the beta of 6.0?

Is ENS is the Extended Network Driver ?!?
Is there something to do in here.

Actually I am getting the VPN connection to check for username and password and then it gives me the following error message :

Error 619 : The Specified Port Is Not Connected

Thank you for your prompt reply .
