Transfer Wingate to a New Machine

Postby jiandc » May 11 04 1:29 am

Hi,

We are planning to transfer our Wingate server from an old machine with Win2000Pro to a Newly purchased machine with Win2000 Server OS.

I just want to ask how to move Wingate from one machine to another without reinstalling it from scratch and making all the necessary settings.

How do I transfer all settings & user accounts to the new server?

Regards,

Jayson,

GateKeeper - Options - Advanced - Save Registry Settings.

Move this file to the new server and import after WinGate is installed.

Restart server.

Should take care of things for you.

hello, i remember when i last did this it didn't save the users or the setting in www proxy server like cascading. the only thing it made was save the error strings that i added inthe registry like access denied error string.
is that what is supposed to happen?

That doesn't sound right at all.

I regularly save the registry setting when I'm tinkering and have never seen this problem.
