Wingate 6 Email

Postby simon.fking » May 22 04 2:21 am

Hi,

I have installed Wingate 6 Beta, and have been looking into the email.

I was wondering how to, if possible. Have Wingate download email from a remote server (eg. pop.ihug.com.au). Then place it into a local email address (fking). So that when the client downloads the email it comes from the wingate server instead of the remote one for faster email download times.

I would like the clients to still send email normally using the remote server (smtp.ihug.com.au).

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Simon,

This should be quite straightforward, if you open the email menu and go to the Collection tab you can add accounts to collect mail from. If you click add then you can specify the server and account, on the delivery tab you can choose whether to deliver to the one mailbox on the server, or deliver to the recipients and place unknown mail into a default mailbox.

Thanks,

Matt
