Unable to access WINGATE using WINGATE NATTED IP Address

Jun 01 04 4:15 am

Hi,

I am facing a problem to access WINGATE which is natted to another IP address. Original IP address of WINGATE server is 192.168.1.1 and the natted IP address is 172.16.1.1
Natting is done because we are having an ISP as a WAN medium. When the users from the WAN locations try to access internet through WINGATE using the address 172.16.1.1, then at the time of authentication, they get an error message " NO RESPONSE FROM PORT". We have done Static natting which maps to the same port on the WINGATE.

Also we have checked that any other applications like FTP on the machine is possible, so it is not a problem with the NATTING.

Can somebody guide me as to how can we access internet using the NATTED IP of the WINGATE.

Chintan

What does your routing table look like?
Also, make sure that the adapters roles are set correctly (Menu Options/Advanced/Interfaces, make sure that your internal NIC is set to be non-public and trusted and the external one is public and non-trusted).

Hi,

We are having only one NIC Card on the proxy server.
We have pointed the default gateway of the NIC card to the Internet Routers Ethernet interface.

We have done static Routing on the Server for the local LAN to point towards the internal LAN.

There is no problem with the Routing as other applications installed on the server are working fine.

Shall await your response.
