Dial up through wingate

Postby Ryan » May 27 04 1:10 pm

Hi all,

We're currently changing DSL ISP's and I am trying to set up a dial up connection for the interim but I cannot get Wingate to stay connected for more than 1 second, infact is simply says

Registering on the network then bang straight to
Disconnecting connection

AGH!

If anyone can help with the step by step set-up or point me to another topic with the same information as I cannot find anything.

We're trying to set this up so it can be accessed over the network.

Thanks

Hi Ryan

Have you tried seeing if the modem will dialup on its own without the WinGate engine running to see if it still disconnects so suddenly?

I had this issue once on a machine without WinGate installed and found that by removing the modem and then reinstalling it with up to date driver actually fixed the problem as it renewed/refreshed the associated protocols etc.

Has the Dsl modem any individual connection options that may be causing it to do this timer settings etc.
We have tested WinGate with both DSL modems and routers and havent seen this issue here in the lab. If the Dsl modem is listed in the dialer config in WinGate just make sure that it is enabled and the default timeout is still set to disconnect after 180 seconds.

Regards
