My local interface is set yo 192.168.0.1.
I cannot access the logfile server. When I try on 192.168.0.1 (
http://192.168.0.1:8010) it says that the page cannot be displayed; I get the exact same result on 127.0.0.1 (
http://127.0.0.1:8010). The same result are true from other computers on the LAN.
I therefore assumed that I have inadvertently changed something on the default logfile service. I therefore cloned this service and called it LS. On this cloned copy I can access the service only through 127.0.0.1 but not through 192.168.0.1 or from any other computer on the LAN.
The same is true of any of the other WWW Proxy services.

Hi,
It sounds like you should check that your bindings are configured correctly, if you open the different services then you can choose which adapters they're bound to, check that they're bound to the 127 address and the 192 address.

From memory the services are bound to both 192.168.0.1 and 127.0.0.1 but i'll check tonight. The reason I say this is that I unbound 127.0.0.1 and then I couldn't connect to the service and when I rebound it I could.

The binding are:
"Specify interfaces.."
Bound
127.0.0.1 started
192.168.0.1 started
I have also recreated the service and get the exact same results.
I also checked previous posts on this forum and double checked that the browser is configured "Don't use proxy.." is set for 192.168.0.1:8010.
Auditing is also set.
err!

Now solved. I had TCP/IP filtering on the LAN interface of the W2K Server and therefore was not allowing port 8010 to pass.
