pcanywhere

Postby wyseone » Jul 06 04 12:56 am

Hi,
have been through all the pcanywhere topics but could not find a solution to setting up pcanywhere host on winate client machine.
My configuration is as follows
wingate server 192.168.0.1
os win98 se
connectivity usb broadband dsl
tcp mapping port 5631, default server 192.168.0.22 port 5631
udp mapping port 5632, default server 192.168.0.22 port 5632

now when i connect to using pcanywhere client to the external ip of the wingate server, it does not connect. However mysteriously if i connect from another node on the lan using pcanywhere client to 192.168.0.1 ( the wingate server ip) then it connects to 192.168.0.22 ( the host node),Also if i install pcanywhere on the wingate server, it connects from remote pcanywhere client

It bogs me where am i going wrong

Hi

check the firewall settings. If you are connecting from external, then the connection may be blocked by the firewall.

You should see in the firewall tab in GateKeeper if this is the case. In this case, you can specify another set of redirections in the port security table for "Connections from the Internet".
