Server also have transparent redirection

Postby Ekkas » Feb 04 04 9:21 am

How can I set up the WG server to also take advantage of transparent redirection? All clients 'rock-and-roll' on sites previously visited by other clients (even Windows XP updates! :-) ), but the server must download everything from scratch if I browse on it.

Thanks in advance

Why not simply proxy the server through 127.0.0.1 ?

Oh. But I wanted a turn to ask questions too :-) The WinGate Server cannot T/R, so to get all the associated benefits of that, you basically need to set it up to proxy.

Any applications you run on the server, e.g. Internet Explorer, needs to have proxy settings if you want it to go through the proxies (As you'd get automatically with T/R for the clients)

O.K. At least I understood that much. Luckily not totally 'duh' yet! :-)

Thanks I'll try it tomorrow. Unfortunately we (in South Africa) are almost on the other side of the planet so it's now 00:40AM here...
