Theres no direct way of getting copies of sent mail put in to a local mail box. The two ways which i think would be easiest would either to just just a text viewer and read the raw .msg file from the WinGate\Mail\Spool\Sent directory, or if you really want to get them in to a mail box you could write a batch file to copy them from the above dir in to a local admin account dir every minute (or any time period you wish to specify). You can use the WinGate Scheduler to run this batch file every n minutes.

There is one other option.

If you select on the delivery tab in WinGate mail "Keep copies of sent mail", then all mail that is delivered by WinGate will be also copied to a directory called \mail\spool\sent under the WinGate install directory.

If you copied these files into the admin mailbox folder, then you would be able to retrieve them using POP3 using the admin account. To copy the files, a scheduler action could be used

Adrien,

I am having A SIMILAR PROBLEM, that is i BADLY need to access the Mail sent. I have the "Keep copies of sent mail" in the delivery tab of Wingate. I do not know how to go about the steps you said about copying these files in admin account. We are using Microsft Outlook 2000 everywhere.

Also, can we recover the attachment in case present in the *.msg file ?

Awaiting your prompt reply,

Thank you & kind regards.

VPOP3

Postby ngrayson » Feb 23 04 4:39 am

Adrien,

I have in the past sent this privatley to Pascal I believe it was. I use wingate and VPOP3.

The feature in VPOP3 which keeps me using that and not switching to the internal wingate server is that any account can be tagged for monitoring either incoming or out going messages which can then be forwarded to any account you choose.

I would suggest having looked to the forum today that it would be quite a popular feature to add.

ALso the fact that VPOP3 can be made to rename or detach incoming attachment is very usefull. Is this something you are considering.

I also was wondering if you have a release date for the next rev software.
