Hi there,
I want to share the internet connection of my Windows 2000 server with a Windows XP notebook. I installed WinGate 5.2 on the Windows 2003 server but it seems that I still cannot connect to the internet on the Windows XP client. Whenever I try to connect to the web from the client, I notice there is an activity logged on the WinGate Server. However, I can only get the "HTTP 404 - File Not Found" response from the client side. I made sure the proxy setting on the client side has already been changed correspondingly.
I tried to ping the Wingate server and a positive response is returned. Also for pinging the client from the server side, a positive response is returned as well.
Afterwards, I installed the WinGate Internet Client on my XP client. It does not help either. I noticed that activity logged on the Wingate server was changed to something like "WRP COntrol Session - ielpore.exe".
I wonder what mistakes I made and what changes on the configuration I should make further. Please kindly tell me the way to fix it if you have any idea of this. Thanks a lot.
