Can't find computer

I'm new to VPN so this might seem stupid to you.

I've set up the VPN and connected the client to the host. Client can browse the host and the participants behind the host, so far so good.

How do participants behind the client browse the host? I assume that once we can do this they will also be able to browse the LAN behind the host, right?

I tried windows 'search for computer' but found nothing.

VPN Client provides Internet access to it's participants OK.

VPN Host provides Internet access to it's participants OK.

I realise there's not much to go on here, I'm tired, my brain's fried. Please, someone just tell me where to start!

First, you need to make sure that the VPNs are configured to have their local participation set to "Local Network". This makes sure that they will allow information about the entire network through.

Secondly, you need to configure each of the clients to communicate with the VPN. This can be done in one of three ways:

1. Set their default gateway to the VPN Server (Client side)
2. Install a RIP v 2 compatible listener on each of the clients
3. Add a static route on each of the clients to point traffic for the remote subnet through the VPN Server (Client side)

There is a reasonably comprehensive document in our Support -> WhitePapers section that describes the most common client configuration steps and tests to see if connectivity is available.

Thanks, I'll try it.

I already know that the clients use the VPN Node as the gateway, that's how the Internet is set up. I'm fairly certain that the participation is set to Local Network at both ends but I'll make sure of it.

If they are setup with their default gateways, it should be fine. Can you ping one of the other machines at least ? Or reach them via \\machineip from Explorer ?

The inability to browse them in Windows might simply be a Master Browser issue, they should enumerate the network every 10 minutes (I think) ... so it could simply be a timing issue. (If you can at least ping the remote machines from a client)

Using Gatekeeper I can see the WinGate setup from here but I can't run any other diagnostics until I'm on site so it won't be tonight (it's dark). I'll give this a try tomorrow.

Do I need to go through the Installation again to check the participation or is there an option hidden in menu somewhere?

You can set the participation on the VPN Configuration. Open up the appropriate end.

Server -> ...
